PlanGrid Pricing in 2026: What It Costs Now That Forma Build Replaced It

Helonic is an AI construction drawing analysis platform for teams researching software pricing during drawing review. PlanGrid pricing in 2026: Autodesk no longer sells PlanGrid to new customers. Legacy plan prices, Forma Build costs, and what existing users should do.

Software PricingNovember 1, 2026

PlanGrid pricing in 2026 has a short answer: Autodesk no longer sells PlanGrid to new customers. Its PlanGrid page says access "is now available through Forma Build," the product Autodesk called Autodesk Build until it rebranded Autodesk Construction Cloud as Autodesk Forma in March 2026.

As of November 2026, new buyers pay for Forma Build instead: Forma Build Essentials at $800 per user per year ($100 monthly) or full Forma Build at $1,400 per user per year ($175 monthly). PlanGrid's last plans, Nailgun, Dozer, and Crane, were $39, $59, and $119 per user per month billed annually.

Can you still buy PlanGrid?

Not as a new customer. Autodesk's PlanGrid product page, checked November 1, 2026, says "PlanGrid is no longer available for purchase by net-new customers" and points to a 30-day Forma Build trial instead. Autodesk Build became Forma Build on March 24, 2026, as Autodesk explains in its Autodesk Forma rebrand post; licensing and logins did not change.

Existing customers can still log in on the web, the Windows app, and the Forma mobile app. Autodesk's Forma FAQ says there are no plans to shut down PlanGrid. Autodesk hasn't published an end-of-life date, so we haven't given one here.

How much did PlanGrid cost?

PlanGrid charged per user, with three plans that differed only by sheet limit. PlanGrid's help center article on invited and existing user pricing still lists them, and describes them as plans for people invited to a project by an established PlanGrid customer. Confirm with Autodesk whether that path is open to you before counting on it.

Every plan included unlimited projects, and specs, RFIs, submittals, and photos didn't count toward the sheet limit. Revisions did.

What do you get in Forma Build that PlanGrid didn't have?

Forma Build Essentials covers the field work PlanGrid users know: issues, punch lists, daily reports, forms, photos, files, and models. The full Forma Build plan adds RFIs, submittals, specifications, meetings, schedule, cost management (budget, change orders, payment applications, forecasting), and Autodesk AI features such as quick-create RFIs.

So the honest comparison for a PlanGrid Crane user is $1,428 a year on PlanGrid against $1,400 on Forma Build, with far more tooling on the Autodesk side. A field-only team that ran Nailgun at $468 a year sees the biggest jump. Our Autodesk Construction Cloud pricing guide covers the bundles and Data Management costs.

How do existing PlanGrid customers move to Forma Build?

There's no automated project migration. Autodesk reseller IMAGINiT, in its PlanGrid to Autodesk Build transition guide, recommends finishing active work in PlanGrid, starting new projects in Build, archiving old PlanGrid files into a placeholder project, and moving forms and checklists by export and import.

PlanGrid and Forma Build need separate licenses, per Autodesk's getting started guide for PlanGrid users. Budget for overlap while old jobs close out.

What did PlanGrid do well?

PlanGrid made the current drawing set easy to carry on an iPad, and that's why it spread to over a million projects. Sheet hyperlinking, markups that synced, and simple pricing by sheet count made it easy for subs and small GCs to adopt without training.

Teams that loved that simplicity often look at Fieldwire next. See our Fieldwire pricing breakdown and the PlanGrid alternatives we've reviewed.

Where does Helonic fit for former PlanGrid teams?

PlanGrid and Forma Build put the drawings in front of the field. Helonic reads the drawings before they get there, flagging coordination, code, and missing-information issues with sheet coordinates. Through the Autodesk Forma integration, accepted findings become RFIs in the project you already run.

Helonic doesn't do field markup, punch lists, or document control, so it sits next to Forma Build rather than replacing it. The Helonic vs PlanGrid comparison covers the split, and our construction software pricing guide puts the numbers side by side.
